Making Love Stay...

The Trifecta challenge this weekend: 33 words of first person narrative...

I feel her slipping away. And who could blame her? I see her only briefly a couple times a week. I have to stop trying to find time. I have to make time.

  1. This is very true-and you said it brilliantly in so few words too! Well done!

  6. This is a true, ongoing sketch of my relationship right now, and the challenge inspired me to make time this very morning. Funny how a simple writing challenge can inspire you to do some work on your greatest work of art - your life.

  7. Good reminder about having our priorities straight when it comes to those things most important to us. Fortunately, things like poverty, ill health, violence, don't inhibit my freedom to choose how best to allot my time....most of the time, anyway. :) Having the freedom to do with your time as you see fit is one of the best luxuries one can enjoy.

  8. This is so true, yet utterly elusive to some people who don't see this in themselves. Barring situations mentioned by Tom (above), there is no excuse. Thanks for this thoughtful entry.

  9. Hmmm - Now I know how Mr. S feels being a 'blog widower' as I pound the key board nightly and he watches the idiot box upstairs.... he says he has patience...but for how long.

  10. The burn of any parent having to balance things. This one feels especially like a character who is a noncustodial parent whose access to the child is limited less by a former partner and more by a demanding schedule. But it doesn't have to be that. My Mom worked second shift, and if I didn't stay up until 11PM, I didn't see her at all during the week, because she didn't get to bed until 2AM (her job was stressful - it took that long to decompress) and I had to be up at 6 or 7 for school, then she was gone again before I got home.
