Book Review Policy

If you have a memoir or a personal essay or other work of narrative or experimental nonfiction and would like to request a review for Amazon, Goodreads, LibraryThing or elsewhere, just drop me an email at mruttleysz at gmail dot com. 

If you wish to send me a print copy of your work, great! We can arrange the details by email. I’m just as happy with a .doc, .pdf, .mobi, or .epub file. Gifting it to me on Amazon or on SmashWords are good ways to go, too.

Please put Review Request in the subject field of your email.

Here are some suggestions of what to include in your review request:

Title
Author’s name
Publisher (self-published books and essays gladly accepted)
Genre

Number of pages and word count
Titles and authors of one or two similar works
What makes your book stand out from the crowd
Book description (brief synopsis e.g. back cover copy)
Cover art
Excerpt(s)
Blurbs
Where you’d like to see your review appear

Whether you're interested in answering interview questions for a Quid Pro Quo blog post
Whether you might like to conduct a giveaway (via Rafflecopter) or promo coupon code

I’m generally of the opinion that it’s better to remain silent than to give a bad review.
